Mr. Farshtey... first, I just have to say what an honor it is to be able to talk to you!Happy I am a huge fan of your work on the Bionicle Saga, and to this day your work is still the best I have seen in a LEGO storyline or any other short story! If you don't mind taking a bit of time to answer my questions, (of course you don't, otherwise this topic wouldn't be hereJoking) then I'll get started.

1. Was this topic your idea, or the Mod's, and how did it come about?

2. How long do you think this topic will stay up?

3. Did you ever have a hand in any Bionicle set designs?

4. When Bionicle was first created, did the LEGO team have you on imedeately as writer or..?

5. How did you first get into LEGO?

6. If it's not too much, how and why did the LEGO company pick you as a writer?

7. Almost done.Happy Do you think sometime in the future you'll be able to finish The Powers That Be, and Yesterday's Quest regardless of Bioniclestory.com having been closed?

8. Last one, I promise...Wink What is your favorite LEGO theme?

Thanks again for reading this and taking time out of your day to answer it. I'll say it one more time before I post this... It is a great honor to speak with you. Thanks!

Greg, in BIONICLE 3, Adventures 7, Adventures 9, and the first 2005 comic all had different ways that the Rahaga caught the Hordika from their fall from the Colesium.  Which is correct?

So you do Ninjago too? Joking I did not expect it. Joking What is your job exactly with Ninjago? Joking

I write the Papercutz Ninjago graphic novels.

So that's why those are so cool. Joking.

Oooh, here's a question I'm sure someone's already asked (Joking): Which year of BIONICLE was your Favorite?

Probably 2004

Reeeeally? NOT the answer I was expecting. Interesting. Joking.

Great, now I'm actually more compelled to talk. Joking.

Hey everybody, I know this is pretty Hopeless, but let's take this slowly here. Poor Greg has probably missed a couple Hours of sleep just Answering everyone. Joking.

1) I met you shortly after that contest, because of that contest. My brother was one of the winners.

2) Ha ha! Okay.

3) Interesting...

Thanks! Happy

And one more question... Who picked Matoro to be the one to save Mata Nui? You?

And why Matoro?

I did, yes. And I picked Matoro because he felt that he wasn't doing enough to be a hero ... he didn't really feel worthy of his power. So I thought it would be cool if he did the most heroic thing of all.

Yeah.

You did an epic job on that. Thumbs up

Rereading that part always brings tears to my eyes. Really.

I know.  I like Matoro. Smile

Hey Greg, I was wondering if you read any of the fanfiction in the Bionicle Forum of the website. If so, you mind checking out my story "The Toa's Apprentice" and giving me some pointers, just to make sure I'm on track with characters and whatnot.

Thank you!

You're awesome. I had no idea you still did stuff for LEGO, and I find out that you're the writer behind my favorite theme. My favorite theme next to BIONICLE, of course. Ninjago is almost as good. I just like BIO better.

Question time!

The Yesterday Quest. The Powers That Be. What was going to happen? It's such a shame it just got cancelled. If you have any plans of continuing in the future, don't tell us, but if you don't think so, maybe just a teeny spoiler?

Hello again, Mr. Farshtey!

I'm sorry I made two separate posts for my questions, but I forgot this question that I always wanted to ask:

Did you come up with the storyline for BIONICLE before the sets were designed, or did you work with the sets are provide a plot for them?

Usually what would happen would be this. There would be an agreement on a really broad storyline -- the Toa are going to be underwater, for example, and the villains will be this -- and then the set designers would go to work. When they were done, we would start deciding who all the characters were and what they could do and fleshing out the story more,

If I'm correct during the Mahri you had a prototype of Nuparu who had a sword. That's why in the books he had the Aqua Blaster Blade, correct? Smile

Hi Greg! Happy

It's great to meet you!  I have all of the Ninjago graphic novels (always buy them the day they come out. Wink), and was wondering how many more you're writing for 2014.

Also, is Zane going to be the main villain, or is it another group of Nindroids?

Thanks! Happy

Two are on the schedule right now, but I can't discuss plot.

Cool!  Thanks! Happy
