Greg, do you have a LEGO.com account?

Did you write any of the BIONICLE movies or Ninjago episodes?

Greg, how often do you come on the LEGO Message Boards?

1) I have a LEGO ID if that is what you are asking

2) I wrote the story for the last BIONICLE movie, but not the script. I have not written any of the Ninjago episodes.

3) Daily right now, but I will be going on vacation in another week and most likely will not be here.

Greg, if another company bought Bionicle, would you still go and write for the continuing story?

I probably would not be allowed to. If it was another toy company, that would be writing for competing product, which I would not be allowed to do.

some questions:

Why are you using the name ScribeGT6817? and not Greg Farshtey?

Me and a lot of other folks on biomediaproject.com want to know if you are going to write a continuation to The Powers That Be?

Why did LEGO close Bionicle?

Me and my brother bought a full set of bohrok-kal off E-bay the other day and I want to know what heads the krana fit onto?

1) I did not originally create this ID with an eye toward doing message boards. I did it for work because I needed to be able to check some things for Club.

2) I have no plans to at this time. I don't have the free time.

3) BIONICLE had been around nine years at that point,I think they just wanted to go in a different direction.

4) No idea. The Bohrok-Kal are from 10 years ago.

I don't have info on the number of episodes. As for the rest, I can't discuss future story plans. I am not allowed.

Hey Greg, I have a few questions for you. Happy

1. We know there will be more nindroids in the new Ninjago Season, but will some of them, or one of them, be the main antagonist?

2. Are you allowed to give any hints to what Garmadon's "doomsday devices" are?

3. Do you know roughly when the next Ninjago season will come out?

Thanks for your time. Happy

Sorry, since all of this relates to future plans, I can't discuss it.

HEY GREG DO YOU HAVE ANY PICTURES OF THE NINJAGO 2014 SETS?

I have access to images of all the 2014 sets for all lines. I have to, to do my job, since we are starting work on the January 2014 issues of LEGO Club Magazine is about six weeks.

Okay... So are the comics basically the same thing as the TV show but in comic form? Do they follow the same exact plot?

Are you talking about the Ninjago books? No, they are not the same thing as the TV episodes. They are completely different stories.

Hey Mr. Greg,

A lot of people say they dislike Ninjago because the storyline for the tv show was poorly written(i know you didn't write the tv series). They say there are a lot of loop holes and unfinished details in it like the episode "Wrong Place Wrong Time". Do you agree with this? And if so, what do you find wrong with it? What about the tv series would you improve on? It's an honor to speak with you by the way.

Jay, I work for LEGO -- even if I had issues with the TV series, which I don't, I certainly would not publicly criticize it.

I have no plans to do so. For one thing, there is no place to continue them and for another I have very little free time.

Hello, Sir, I would Like to ask one Question and Say ONE thing,

Question: I Love the story in Bionicle, But Ninjago really did not have much of a Story, Any reason why?

What I have to say: I love Writing myself, And so it is Great to be able to have a Moment and a Question Awnsered by you.

I disagree. I think Ninjago has as much story as it needs. Not everything has to be deep and complex and require total immersion to understand, just as not every book needs to be War and Peace.

Was Ehlek mutated in the Black Waters?

Why didn't he just return to the surface, using the breathing apparatus he already had?

I have to say, and I know this will be a disappointment, but detailed questions on BIONICLE story are going to be a challenge for me to answer. It has been about three or four years since I was writing BIONICLE every day, and a lot has happened since then, so I do not recall a lot of this stuff now. I haven't been immersed in it in ages.

Hello Mr. Farshtey. Or can I call you Greg? Joking

I remember over 10 years ago reading the first Bionicle comic..... Man that's a good memory. I thought it was awesome. It's what got me into writing/drawing comics, and I also remember going to the store to buy Tahu.

Thanks for making me a LEGO nut. Joking

Oh and question: Have any of your stories/ideas ever been rejected by LEGO? If so, what reason?

Not that I recall, no. Being a LEGO employee, I pretty much know what I am and am not allowed to do.

  1. Would the bone-heads of Voodoo Island have also been bio-mechanical?
  2. It is correct that "Bionicle" means Biological Chronical, and is not refering to the characters?
  3. If so, why was the gold form of Tahu "The Golden Bionicle"?
  4. Did you have an important part of the making of the sets, movies, or comic books?
  5. Do you have any ideas for an original LEGO Theme? You don't have to describe it if you can't (Restrictions), a yes or no will suffice.
  6. Would you support a LEGO Fighting Game? (There is a topic in the Video Game Forums, and I probably have the most posts there)

1) No idea. I did not work at LEGO when it was in that early stage.

2) Yes

3) Because that slogan was written by marketing people, not story people

4) I wrote the comics. Outside of the last movie, I had nothing to do with the films, and my job was not to oversee set design.

5) Not off the top of my head, no.

6) Doesn't really matter if I would or not, since I have no influence over whether something like that gets done.
