Hello Mr. Farshtey,

As of today, it has been exactly 10 years since I last asked you a question. I still remember clearly entering my question into the Ask Greg section of BIONICLE.com back in 2004 to this day. I've been wanting to talk to you for a few months now, but I figured I'd wait until now just to meet the 10 year mark just because.

I don't really have a specific question in mind, but I'd like to thank you for helping to make BIONICLE such a special part of my life. I can't even imagine how great it must have felt to have gotten the opportunity to be part of the development of such an amazing universe. The future looks bright, and I hope the new BIONICLE will continue your legacy.

Thanks,

-Ben

Hey Greg, what role will Alternate Teridax play in the new society on SM? Also, do you think he would try to "purify" Miserix?

Do you get a discount on LEGO products?

Maybe if in that case, could you tell us what your thoughts are for the new plot that you know of so far? Or is it too personal of an opinion?

It's not a discussion I really want to get into. What matters is YOUR opinion as you see things unfold, because you are part of the audience for this. I'm not.

Yes, all LEGO employees do, via the company store on campus or through the online shop.

It's a good question. He has the capacity to be a very powerful and valuable ally to the Toa and Glatorian. I almost see him in a role, not only of being a defender against attacks, but in helping to shape the moral/ethical philosophy of the new society.

There was a cancelled PC game that was meant to be canon called BIONICLE: The Legend of Mata Nui. In that game, there was a rahi called the Fikou-Nui. If you look it up, you can see that it is a larger version of the Fikou... very larger.

So I was wondering. Where did this rahi come from? It is on the island of Mata Nui in the game. I believe it is in Onu-Wahi. Was it created as a lone rahi, the only one of it's kind. Is it a sub-species of the Fikou, or just a "close relative"?  Was it an escapee from the archives that made its way to Mata Nui? So many questions, probably little answers...

Hmmm. The only BIONICLE PC game I can recall being cancelled was from 2001. Anyway, unfortunately, you have sort of answered your own question -- cancelled PC game that was going to be canon equals stuff that did not become canon. So no info exists on this. The person who was working on the game on the LEGO end hasn't even worked here since 2005.

I guess this is my last question that has been just bugging me for almost four year: whatever became of Lesovikk? I really enjoyed your characterization of him and am very interested to see if you ever had anything planned for the Toa of Air.

Thanks again.

1) To my knowledge, a writer or writers has not been selected yet.

2) Old BIONICLE or new BIONICLE?

That's interesting, since (from what I understand) a book was supposed to be released this Summer. I would have thought they would start writing earlier. Anyway thanks for answering, I was refering to the Original BIONICLE, not the new one with my second question.

Also just one more question I thought of: Which character in BIONICLE best represents your personality (if that's too personal don't bother answering, I won't mind)?

Mr. Farshtey, do you happen to know anything at all about the mask in the Lord of Skull Spider's box art?

1) No, they don't need a full year for a book. I would be writing books for January the summer before, usually, so they probably won't need to get a writer going before December.

2) Remind me what your question was? Smile

3) I would say none. I really can't think of a BIONICLE character who was very much like me.

You have a very touching speech Mr Ben Crying

I tottaly disagree with you.

Mr Greg has all the rights to not answer any questions.

The fact we are able to write to him is a provelege we shouldn't abuse.

Also even in eye-to-eye chat people don't have to talk about their personal feelings and they don't need any reason to do so.

1. Great Beings

- How would you describe their personality as scientists ?

2. Collection

- Which is your favourite ?

3. Passion or work

- Was your approach to Bionicle 100% professional or have you linked emotionally to that work ?

1) I see them as a lot like Colin Clive in the original Frankenstein movie. They do things because they can, or to find out if they can, without worrying all that much about consequences.

2) I don't really have a favorite.

3) Any writer who works on something for an extended period of time is going to get emotionally attached. Back when I wrote my first novel, in 1992, I wrote the ending in one 8-hour marathon, because I knew I was going to feel bad saying goodbye to those characters. Between 2003 and 2010, I was writing BIONICLE pretty much every day, so yes, I did get attached to that universe.

1. And just like with Frankenstein, it brought only trouble, but then again I doubt Bionicle fans would complain Happy

3. Wow... Thank you very much for this answer. I was afraid I was stepping too far with it.  I really liked what you wrote Smile
