Hello!

Just one question: would a Toa of Sonics be able to use their control over the vibration of atoms to heat things up?

Hi Greg

1: were the other sentient races in the MU (vortixx, skakdi, etc) created by the great beings, or were they inhabitants of spherus magna?

2: does the same apply to the rahi?

3: did the great being actually have a reason for building the mata nui robot, or was it just a pet project?

4: Might the decision to build it have been influenced by Velika?

Thanks Thumbs up

A few answers that are already out there, if you know where to look:

2: The first rahi were created by the great beings, and later ones by the Makuta. This was the purpose of the Makuta.

3-4: The Great Spirit Robot(GSR) was built as part of a really big and really long project by the great beings to heal Spherus Magna. Velika might of been one of the beings who was a part of this, it's unlikely that this was decided.

I know that you can't answer if Kopaka slipped in the new story, but is there a scenario where he would have slipped in the old canon?

Simple. As we saw, sapience did not interfere with their ability to work. They still got the job done, and it also gave them the will to resist the machinations of Makuta. Besides, Velika's end game was to establish himself as a ruler. What better and easier way to achieve that than to give your subjects the gift of free will and reap their eventual gratitude? The obedience of beings who have no choice but to obey means nothing. Love, on the other hand, is a distraction from work. There is a reason so many companies frown on romance in the workplace.

Besides, you are the one proposing an alternate universe, so you have to explain your reasoning. You don't get to answer a question with a question. You have said you agree with the reasoning for NOT having romance in BIONICLE, so now explain why that reasoning is wrong in your alt. There are lots of reasons why free will and intelligence makes for better workers ... I can't think of any reason romantic love is going to make them better workers.

Actually, who ever said Velika put it there on purpose? It could have been a programming error.

Is that your explanation?

Um, actually, having Velika give them sentience was, um, actually my idea. I suggested it to Greg and he liked it so everyone's taking it for granted now. Joking

I think it's cooler than a programming error, anyway, plus it would explain why they didn't get sapience until many years after their creation.

You have misunderstood. Go read the whole conversation through to see, but I can assure you that the sentience was not a programming error!

Sorry, posted before I read the whole conversation. Mistake on my part, sorry. Good theorizing!

Is there a limit to what Baterra can shapeshift into? For example, is it only natural things or even man-(Matoran?)made items (I.E. Jetpacks, weapons, etc.)

Hi Mr Greg

When the Great Beings have created Tren Krom is what they have created TK from the DNA of several animal species of Spherus Magna?

You recently said that there were fewer than twenty Great Beings. why there are so few of GB? Is it because of a tragedy like an epidemic that has killed much of the Great Beings? Or it's because they took themselves for gods and they have made a foolishness that cost the death of many of them? I think this is the case because Angonce has said that receive the title of Great Beings was the worst thing that happened to them because they thought that was exact. whatever this is just my theory...

Is what the Battera have telepathic ability to find and track anyone armed? or they are attracted by the noise a bit like zombies?

Can you create a mask worn by a Kiata(Mask of wisdom or Mask of Valor, for example) by carving a disk created by combining the disks required to create the masks of the Toa who are part of the Kiata?

Hello Greg.

I've returned with the results from the polls for the Toa Mangai Kanohi. For the first poll, the Kakama poll, 64 members voted and 65% of the voters agreed that they wanted the mask to be known. The result was that the majority of people want the Toa Mangai of Earth to wear the Kanohi Kakama.

In the Toa of Ice Kanohi poll, 95 members voted. The top winners were the Calix, Rode and the Mask of Conjuring. Those were the mask which the majority of the community wanted 3 of the 4 Toa of Ice to wear.  The foruth place had to be done using a tiebreaker poll.

In the tiebreaker poll between the Kaukau, Mask of Adaption, and the Kadin, 68 members voted and 47% of the voters wanted the 4th Toa of Ice to wear the Kanohi Kaukau.

Do you approve?

Thanks for your time and have a Merry Christmas.

Buried again.

My only qualm is the Rode, because I thought we had limited how many of those were worn in the MU.

The next highest mask in the poll was the Kadin, so could that be the final Ice Toa's mask instead of a Rode?

i also thought there was a limited number of rodes in the MU... given that, i don't think some random toa would have it.

Firstly, does the Red Star have a range of access? Could Mata Nui only use it if he is within a certain distance of it, or can he use it from anywhere?

Also, how did Mata Nui observe all those star systems when he was active? The distances between them would be tremendous, and if he wanted to visit them all in the time that he did, he would need to use teleportation or travel faster than light.

Perhaps he worked more as a telescope, like Voyager 1? He would stay within the range of the Red Star (if it has a range), and it would be fairly efficient.

The RS normally is attached to Mata Nui or orbiting whatever planet MN is on.The teleportation effect does have a range of about 35,000 miles.

He was not traveling between star systems, he was traveling to planets within the Solis Magna system.

any reason you picked that specific number?

So, you know how Tahu has some Kraata powers because of the Golden Armor? Since Krika, Bitil, and Gorast lost some of theirs when they were exposed to Pit Mutagen, would the same happen to him?

(This question is puerly hypothetical, since Mata Nui cured all that were infected with the Mutagen).

He could lose the powers just by taking the armor off.

so the armor isn't part of his mechanics? and given that he'd loose the power with its removal, does that mean it functions like a mask power?

You once told that you wanted to name Comic 7 of the Ignition Series called "Mask of Life, Mask of Doom" to "Mask of Life,Mask of Death" instead of Doom. Why was it not allowed if there's "Death of a Hero" or "The Death of Mata Nui"?

Because standards change over time. The first actual physical fight in a comic didn't happen until 2006, I think. Prior to that, I was never allowed to show that.

but i remember plenty of fights in the comics before that... the toa battling the bohrok, the bohrok-kal zapping the nuva, not to mention the rahkhsi, just to give a few examples.

But no one ever actually hit someone. They only indirectly attacked their opponent or, in the case of the Bohrok-Kal, used magnetism and gravity and other powers like that to attack. Even when the Toa fought the Bahrag, all they did was fire elemental powers at them at seal them in a protodermis cage.
