Greg, I've been told that the idea behind Spherus Magna wasn't thought up until 2003 when the Three Virtues also came into the picture, however I was wondering whether the idea that there were three celestial objects was thought up before, but just not given any story roles? I am asking since the chars in Nixie's hut shows three celestial objects. Maybe that was just a coincidence though?

You heard wrong. Spherus Magna didn't come into being until the decision was made to wake up Mata Nui in 2008, and that decision was made in '06 or '07. The idea of the planet being split into three pieces was something we retrofitted on to what we already had, it wasn't part of original storyl.

I actually meant 2006-2007. The Three Virtues logo was in 2003 though. However, I wanted to ask you, if you know, why the Bionicle logo looked the way it did, prior the invention of the Virtues? Now, about Nixie's chart. I don't know if you've ever seen it, but it's a really cool coincidence that it has three celestial bodies. The middle "planet" on the chart is the bigger one, however it is referred to in the chart as being where Mata Nui is located. I just thought, it would be cool to canonize it as a chart of the Solis Magna system. I assume you're able to see Bota Magna and Bara Magna in the Aqua Magna sky at times, correct? Now, I know this whole idea is a bit silly, but I have a good explanation, I think. People often hold their own countries in high regard, and on world maps enlarge them, making them larger than lands that are supposed to be bigger than it. That might explain why Nixie has drawn their celestial body as the bigger one. Or it could be like a close-up on Aqua Magna. I know it didn't mean anything originally, since it was in the MNOG and the planet system wasn't made up until later, but it is cool to think that it might actually be the Solis Magna System. What do you think? Safe to canonize, or not?

1) I can only do LEGO-related books if I get asked to do so by a publisher. There are no plans for LEGO Jurassic Word books that I know about (publishers normally only want to do LEGO books if the theme is going to be around for multiple years). There are new BIONICLE chapter books coming out, but I am not writing them.

1) No. I don't. Logo design was not my dept

2) I am not familiar with Nixie's chart, and I doubt it would make sense to canonize something as the Solis Magna system when that is clearly not what it was ever intended to be and no one was paying attention it when we devised Spherus Magna.

Hello Mr Greg

In LEGO the movie, it had been mentioned that there's diverse kingdoms. These kingdoms represent the diverse worlds of LEGO like the world of Ninjago and Super Heroes. And the Bionicle universe is one of these kingdoms as it has been shown in the movie. My question is to know if the Olmak could visit these kingdoms?

My understanding is that LEGO Movie is its own continuity, and is not the same as BIONICLE continuity.

Then why was BIONICLE in the LEGO movie?

If you don't know why, that's okay

Because the filmmakers wanted to put it there. Note that what we were showing was original BIONICLE, and  in all the years that ran, we NEVER had BIONICLE cross-over with any other theme.

Ah

One other important note on this -- remember that the entire story of the LEGO Movie is a kid playing with LEGO sets in his basement. It's not meant to reflect canon storyline for any of the themes.

Hmm, that makes sense I always thought of Fin's room as an alternant demention ish scenario

I doubt it. It's being written by the same guys who write the TV show, so I can't see why they would need my help.

Well, in the movies, they put them on their back and then they vanished, which never got explained. But my guess is they carry them on their back normally, so as to have them nearby.

Hey Greg,

How did you guys come up with names for Bionicle masks, characters, etc?

Will there ever be more "expanded universe" stuff to be added the Bionicle Universe? More masks, mask names, designs? Is there a mask of laser vision that's mentioned, used, etc? Are there unorganic versions of the Inika masks? (sorry for loading a ton of questions) Do the unorganic versions of the Inika masks look different from that of the organic ones? What happens to Pohatu and Kopaka, who are trapped on the Red Star?

1) I don't know how they came up with the original names, but the later names it was just a matter of putting letters together until you had something that sounded like BIONICLE and could pass a legal check.

2) Probably nothing official for original BIONICLE, since the company's focus is new BIONICLE

3) I can't recall us doing a mask of laser vision

4) Yes

5) Yes

6) Nothing has happened to them. Story is frozen where it stopped.

what is the red star?
