Appreciated. But a jump to the future could very well be the reboot, with none of the old characters still in existence or in that location. Remember, one idea that was originally tossed about for Hero Factory (and rejected) was that HF was the BIONICLE universe many, many years in the future. Don't assume a future jump means we keep the old characters around.

Say Greg, what do you think a Bionicle reboot really needs? What do you think are the key factors of Bionicle? A reboot could just be about another race of biomechanical beings created by the Great Beings on another planet in the universe. That way you don't even need the Agori. A reboot could also be another adventure or story line on the planet Spherus Magna. That way you don't even need Toa or other Matoran Universe inhabitants. Or it could be about the Mata Nui robot, with all concepts, fail safes, species, backups, mask powers, elements and technologie created by the Great Beings.Nerd

So what do you think is really necessary to call something part of 'Bionicle'? I'd really like to hear that from you!Happy

I think it needs obvious connections to the existing universe. I don't think that means it has to reference the Great Beings, necessarily, but it should have bio-mechanical beings in it and it needs to have some kind of a big mystery to it.

Agreed, as long as elements are also present! Wink

And no reference to Great Beings. I don't like the sound of that. Then I think we should be told why. I mean what about the GBs' creations? Toa for example? They're very, very important to the line. They're kind of like the most important piece of the puzzle, what made children want to buy it. They' re the heart of BIONICLE, and the elements were the GBs' programming. They were the awesome heroes. And Toa are GB creations, that's just a fact. I don't hope you're going to retcon the last bit of serials and what happened in them Greg, like what happened on the Red Star. Both with the Star itself, its current inhabitants and Toa Pohatu and Toa Kopaka.

If these new characters are Agori or of MU origins I hope we'll get an explaination of why, and why they're there. I hope it's not just the simple "We need to get people to buy these toys, let call it BIONICLE and just do The story in a new location because we can!" mentality.

Also, about not being in the same location. Why not? Why simply stray away? Are there going to be Toa created by Angonce or something that's similiar, which will be found on other panets? That will feel really weird, and kinda more Transformers-ish.

I also feel that if the Toa Nuva does not exist, they should at least get an honorable death. Or some significance in the future, even if they're just mentioned as the Six Heroes of the Past or something like that. I don't hope this is like Ghostbusters 2 where people stupidly just forgot about giant marshmallow man stomping on buildings in NYC. Don't get me wrong, I love GB2, but that plot point was kind of lame.

CONTINUED: I want to tell you a little story Greg, a conversation I had with another fan:
Friend: GEEWUUN
ME: Friend, are you comparing me to, and refering to the fanbase of TF that worship G1 as the only true continuity of TF? And seed that as being the only "true fan" way?
OTHER FRIEND: I can see where he is coming from.
FRIEND: In combination with your thoughts about Bionicle, yes.
ME: Because this is very much different. G1 had complete closure in the end and no dropped storylines like with the serials that we had which was abandoned.
That's hos I feel Greg. I hope it'll all be well and be some sort of actual continuation, because this was always THE BIONICLE, THE Biological Chronicle, and not Biological Chronicles or BIONICLES.

Stay creative,
Best,

Dear Greg Farshtey:

A friend of mine and I are starting with the Stop-Motion and will soon begin a series of Bionicle set in an alternate universe in which Spherus Magna was not reformed.

The fact is that we are trying to be informated all we can, and there is something that has not become clear: The Toa Spirit Stars.

Do you remember them? They have great importance in the first two films, but we do not know if that is canonical information, or if it's something that producers were invented, as when they said the Matoran could feel love and you laid it was not so. Therefore, all this mess is to stop only one question:

¿Are there any spirit stars in the Universe Bionicle, or that's a lie?

Thanks for your attention

Hello, me again (probably forgot me due to thousands of fans flocking toward you... I'll try to make sure that you remember me Joking).

1. What was the most exciting plot twist you made in your opinion?

2. Do you remember any of what the Matoran words mean? Joking

3. How did the Red Star shoot lightning at the Toa Inika, if it was only a machine (wait, maybe that's self explanitory... Joking)

4. How do Spirit Stars know a Toa is a Toa?

1) Not sure - that is really up to the fans to answer, not me

2) No

3) It is

4) Well, we know the answer for interior spirit stars, but not for exterior spirit stars

GREG FARSHTEY! I'm back with more more questions.

  1.  Is the 3rd season coming August 2013 or December 2013?
  2.  How many Doomsday Devices are there?
  3.  I heard the creators of Ninjago and Warner Bros are making a Ninjago Movie. What will it be about?
  4. Will the Overlord ever return in the new seasons or movie?
  5. Who will be the main enemy of the new season?
  6. Will Zane be hacked?
  7. I heard that Zane had a cousin who lived with Dr. Julien after his house burned down with his parents. He later came up with a plan of an evil robot which made Dr. Julien feel how mad he was. He later ran away from Dr. Julien. Years later, he found out he was wrong and went to find Dr. Julien. He wasn't there. The only thing he had found was a blueprint that had a big printing on it saying "Zane". He kept the blueprint and vowed to find Dr. Julien that day. Is the rumor true?
  8. Will the ninja be getting new suits?

GREG FARSHTEY, YOU ARE MY HERO!!!Heart

1) If the season was starting in August, you would have seen ads for it by now, right?

2) What are you referring to?

7) No idea. Not something I have ever heard.

3-6, 8) I can't discuss anything that relates to future storyline

1. Could you list the most powerful villain group to the least powerful, the groups: 2008 Makuta, 2007 Barraki, 2006 Pirakah, 2003, Rakshi, 2003 Bohrak Kal. By most powerfull I mean if they were in their enviroment.

2 Could you list the most powerful "Horde" like villains. from greatest to least. Visorak, Bohrack, and Vahki

3. Which were more powerful? The Toa Nuva or the Mahri.

1-2) If you of these villains from the story, you should be able to answer this yourself.

3) The Nuva

*fangirls* (btw, I never fangirl to anything Joking) my name is kaylee and I'm a big fan of your work! Smile anyway, so if you like, write the ninjago and bionicle story lines, can I ask how that works? I kinda want to make a novel, and I'm trying to get info and advice from authors on their writing and idea process. And I thought sins you make such AMAZINGLY EPICLY AWESOME story lines for ninjago and bionicle, I could ask you. Happy like, how you get ideas down, write your story lines, or desighn your characters and their personality? Smile

Hi Kaylee -- Well, a lot of writers do outlines first, but I don't. To me, knowing everything that is going to happen next takes the fun out of writing. What I try to do is get to know my characters like they are friends ... because just as you know how your friend would react in a situation, you will then know how your character would react too. And that makes it much easier to write.

Keep in mind, though, that at the time BIONICLE got cancelled, the feeling was that the complex story had become a barrier to new people getting into the franchise, which is why set sales went down. That is why HF purposely did not have a complex story. I don't see LEGO Company going, yeah, let's inspire the new kids to go hunt down websites so they can study nine years of old story. The backstory IS complicated, that's just a fact.

About that 9-year-old story, could LEGO ever release the books for purchased download on the internet? I can't buy them anywhere anymore, so downloading them for some money would really save my day! Nervous

I tend to doubt it. There is very little market for e-books aimed at young people, so I can't see Scholastic digging them up to do this. If they aren't doing it for Chima or Ninjago stuff, I doubt they will do it for an old line that is out of print. And the books are still available on Amazon.

Ankas, I read your post very carefully and paid attention to it. But I will say that at this point, this is not worth worrying about, for a couple reasons. First, there is no reason to believe at this point that BIONICLE is coming back; second, if it does,I might not even be working on it; and third, any theories I am suggesting are just that -- my theories -- they are not based on anything official. I can speculate on what I would do, but LEGO Company will decide what the line will look like if it comes back, not me.

Transformers has not been cancelled as a line. BIONICLE was. That's a major difference.

Now that the Bionicle and Bioniclestory sites are gone, do you have any intention of completing the story serials?
