I'm sure that this has already been asked (I haven't been able to find much info besides the early treatment for Bionicle 5) but before bionicle had been cancled how far had the Bionicle universe been planned out and did you have any basic ideas on what would have happend when.

At the time the cancellation was announced internally, we were just sitting down to start discussing potential 2010 story.

Did you write the Ninjago Dark island trilogy books? If so, they are my absolute favorite Ninjago graphic novels ever!! I am still waiting to read part 2 though. . . .

I wrote the scripts for the three books. The story itself was created by the LEGO NINJAGO team and Little Brown.

hey, greg... not entirly sure if this thread is still active, but I may as well try

why did takua change his name to takanuva upon trasformation to a toa. as far as I am aware, this is the only isntance of this happening in cannon (correct me if I am wrong). if this has been answered before (which, undoubtedly it has) sorry for asking,  but this has been bugging me since i wrote a reveiw for mask of light.

1) The idea from the beginning was to aim the story at older kids. It's easier to get younger kids interested in a story written for older kids than vice versa.

2) Ryder Windham wrote the books, and no, he isn't someone I know. I think the BIONICLE team felt they wanted a fresh perspective for the new line.

3) No, I don't know the Hagemans, although I used to send my comic scripts to them as a courtesy so that they were informed what I was doing.

4) No. LEGO Group retains the rights to their themes regardless of whether or not we are actively producing sets. Same way Marvel still owns comic characters they created even if the character is not appearing in a book.

1. I get that.

2. Fresh perspective? How fresh? It's basically the same, only the Visorak invading Mata-Nui.

3. That was nice of you.

4. Huh.

So I own the Officcial Guide to Bionicle and the Updated Bionicle Encyclpoedia. Are there any other guide books that could tell me anything I don't know about Bionicle already?

Also, for my fanfiction, I need to know some things.

1. What happened to Mata-Nui, the GS?

2. Mata-Nui, the island?

3. The Toa Nuva?

4. The Turaga?

5. The Matoran?

6. Makuta?

7. Dark Hunters, Brotherhood of Makuta, Order of Mata-Nui?

8. Toa Ignika?

9. The Kanohi?

10. Mahri Nui and Voya Nui?

Also, what's the deal with Metru Nui? Is it under water? In a cave?

Last question.

Say a My Little Pony used to be a Toa. How could you possibly turn the Pony back into a Toa-like form? Energized Protodermis, perhaps?

You haven't answered my questions.

Two reasons:

1) Story reason - as a tribute to his heroes, the Toa Nuva

2) Non-story reason -- if we didn't change his name, then when people saw a "Toa Takua" set was coming out, they would have immediately known who the seventh Toa was going to be and ruined the story for themselves.

Drake - I can't always get to questions right away. This is something I do in my spare time.

Makuta's Guide to the Universe.

1) Mata Nui's body is gone and his consciousness resides in the Mask of Life.

2) Mata Nui the island was the robot's face, so it's been dismantled

3-5) On Spherus Magna

6) The only Makuta still alive are Miserix and the "good" Teridax from the alternate universe.

7) DH and OOMN are on Spherus Magna, BOM is destroyed

8) No longer exists

9) Kanohi are on Spherus Magna

10) Voya Nui was dismantled along with the rest of the robot. Mahri Nui was destroyed in 2007 story

11) You can't. We saw Tahu go from being a Toa Nuva to a Toa, but in general, you cannot go backwards. That's why a Turaga can't go back to being a Toa.

Hello Greg. I have a question: How do you do when you come up with a new character? Do you make the name first, or do you use a placeholder?

okay. thats fair enough (still find it strange how no-one else in cannon chose to do this, but I shant argue with you on it). I have another few Questions, but these are more about writting in general.

1: what is your oppion on pre planning a story. do you do it, and if so, how far do you plan ahead. (Personally, I have managed to plan out an entire universe ahead of time.)

2: outside of LEGO, are you working on anything, and are you alowed to tell us about it?

3: what book are you reading right now, If any.

4: what advise do you have for aspireing authors?

and...thats about it? I think? I will remember something last minuite, undoubtedly. oh well.

I think he meant MLN (My LEGO Network). The one that got shut down a couple of years ago.

When I was doing BIONICLE, I had a list of names to choose from. When I am doing my own writing, I will usually pick a name out but may change it later on as I write if I don't feel it's working.

1) I generally don't outline. I find it makes my writing lifeless to write to an outline. I prefer to create good characters and then let them tell me the story, rather than me telling it to them.

2) I am just writing some of my own stuff. I don't have anything slated for publication right now, other than the third book of Dark Island. It's been an extremely slow year for LEGO-related freelance.

3) I am reading "The Job" by Janet Evanovich and Lee Goldberg

4) Read a lot, especially people who are better than you are. And write -- it seems obvious, but it's true: writers write. Even if you are not getting published, if you are not writing, you aren't a writer. Being a writer is like being any other kind of artist - it's not something you do, it's something you are.

Anything LEGO Company created belongs to LEGO Company, unless the company chooses to sell the rights to someone.

In Journey's end, Teridax declared that his new body (GSR) would be able to destroy universes. The Great Spirit Robot can really destroy universes?

How long the Great Beings exist? Since 150,000 years? 250,000 years? or more?
