Hello Mr Farshtey,

I only have a few questions for you today, which I hope can be answered before the LMBs are shutdown.

1: The Bohrok swarms in accordance with the tasks required for Mata Nui's return, were released by the Toa, cleansing the island and returning to their nests beneath Mata Nui. My question is, were the nests destroyed with his awakening, part of the body, or just remained intact?

2: Did the queens in their stasis fully aware of the activities of the Kal and conscious, or were they sleeping entirely?

3: What happened to the Bohrok and the hives of Metru Nui? Did they have their own Queens as well?

Hi Mr Greg

1, I know this question will seem boring to you, but in an old post I do not remember which one, you said you will think about which powers of Kraata Tahu has other than quick healing and heat vision. Have you had time to think about this? Given that the LMB will be closed soon? I would be curious to know this.

2, Do you think that one or more of the tribal leaders of Bara Magna like Raanu (not necassiry him) could be an agent of Velika? This could be very beneficial for his plan because he or they could convince the villagers to ally themselves with Velika.

3, The species of Annona have their own technology? If so, their technological level could compete with that of the Great Beings?

4, If I understand correctly, Annona is a sphere of energy with organic tentacles that can emerge from her correct? What if this sphere of energy was actually a kind of vessel to contain her true form like the Makuta but instead of being a gas she is organic? this vessel could protect Annona from physical attacks. What do you think of this theory?

Thank you very much Happy

In the Farsthey Feed you stated that the Glatorian had weapons with elementary powers during the Core War. All Glatorian had this type of weapon? And these weapons give control over the elements like the Toa have? The Great Beings have created these weapons?

1. How did Ihu die? Or (in BIONICLE Adventures #6), when Nuju names the Mountain after his mentor, does 'sleep of shadows', only refer to his sleep in the Matoran Pods, rather than death?

2. What about the Pit made it so hard to escape from?  Was it merely Hydraxon, or was there something special about the prison itself?

3. Do you know what the Shadowed One's name is?  Obviously, you have kept it a secret (for good reasons), but do you actually have a name for the Shadowed One which you have decided upon?

4. A question about the Toa Kaita.  When the Nuva/Mata combined, they made two Kaita, named Akamai and Whairhua.  Let us say that, in theory, the Toa Metru had decided to enter their Kaita forms.  Would their Kaita also be named Akamai and Whairhua, or could they concievably have different names?  Or, to rephrase, is Akamai simply the name of the combined spirits of any Fire, Earth, and Stone Toa, or is that simply the name for the combination of Onua, Tahu, and Pohatu?

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer these questions!

Hey Greg, hope you're doing well! Smile I know that you are a busy guy, but still, I hope you didn't forgot my remaining 9 questions....I'll be happy to hear your answers soon.

A few questions:

  1. Can a mahiki be removed from a being if they are shapeshifted into a form that does not wear kanohi? (Example: While Matau was disguised as a vahki, could he remove his mask?)
  2. If a mahiki user is in a shapeshifted form, and their mask is knocked off, do they (and the mask) revert to normal?
  3. If a mahiki user shapeshifts into a form physically capable of flight (like a gukko), can they fly?

Thanks for answering so many questions for all of us! I'm sure the rest of the community appreciates it as much as I do.

1 to 3: To my knowledge, the mahiki creates illusions. And the creation of an illusion doesn't actually alter physical space -- it merely alters another being's perception of physical space. Bear in mind that shapeshifting is probably only one of several uses for the mahiki, as it can probably create any illusion one can think of.

1. One day, Ihu was travelling in a chute, and a swarm of nui-rama decided to wreck that same exact chute he was travelling in. This ended up causing the Matoran equivelant of a motor accident for poor Ihu, and he didn't make it out alive. Which just goes to show you: you should always wear a seatbelt when travelling in the chutes of Metru Nui, and always keep plenty of Vahki posted around a city.

2. I'm gonna go with... it's because it was a pit Joking an actual pit Joking

The Earth Tribe's colors are brown and black. He confirmed it in an older post.

If you want to know the confirmed things about the Earth Tribe, you should check the BS01's Earth Tribe article.

Go back to before the Core War. We know that Ice Agori were the first to see the energized protodermis when it bubbled to the surface and the Ice Element Lord was the first to lay claim to the well. What you don't know is that the Earth tribe knew EP existed for at least a short while before it came to the surface, since by their nature they knew more about what was going on in the subterranean world than anyone else.

The Earth EL contemplated doing just what the Ice EL ended up doing, but realized it would put a big target on his back and his tribe's back. Yet he still wanted control of the resource. Assuming it would come to the surface at some point, he sat back and waited for someone else to discover it. Once the Ice tribe found it, he and his tribe subtly encouraged the Ice Agori to seize control of the resource, knowing it would provoke conflict ... as it did.

The Earth tribe was, in fact, the only tribe NOT to fight in the Core War. While professing a wish to peace, they were behind the scenes undermining any effort to end the war. Their plan was to wait until the other tribes has exhausted themselves in battle and then swoop in and take the well. As it turned out, things went too far and the planet ruptured before they could do that.

But even before the Shattering, some Agori had started comparing notes and realized the Earth tribe had been promoting this conflict while staying unbloodied by it. After the disaster, accepted wisdom became that the Earth EL and Agori were responsible for what had happened and so no one wanted anything to do with them anymore. They were effectively banished from society.

1. Is it within reason that the members of the earth tribe have tamed some of the bio-mechanical dinosaurs of Bota Magna? 'Cause it would be cool if they didJoking

2. And just because Eljay doesn't want it, would you canonize the Good Guy/Bad Guy polybags as Karzahni Matoran so that he must review them in an official video?Joking

Hi there Greg. I have two questions.  My selfmoc is a Toa of Iron who had his shadow drained to become a toa of light. Would it possible for a sort of "reverse shadow leach" prototype to exist and be responsible for this? Also, my selfmoc has a teal mask and teal armor highlights, as his copper mask has rusted. Would that be acceptable, considering that most rusted Fe-matoran masks are orange? I have a sort of timeline/story set in the events after the Melding.  If you were ever interested in looking at it (which I doubt you will), I'd be happy to email it to you.

The real reason why I am on this discussion board after so many years (can't believe I was able to find my account password) was to say goodbye and thank you. You, my good sir, made my childhood. I moved around a lot as a kid and was homeschooled until I was in highschool, so I didn't have many friends. Bionicle was one of the things that brought some stability to my life. You gave me a love for reading, a love for writing, and a love for creativity. I am in college now, studying to become either a lawyer or counseling psychologist, but I still build with G1 Bionicle and I still read your books. I am not sure if you will respond to this, or even read it, but I wanted you to know that I appreciate all that you have done.

You, Mr. Farshtey, are, and will continue to be, in my prayers.

Thank you and God Bless.

About time, I'll be sad to see this topic (and Forum...and everything else) go.

Sorry if this post is in the wrong place, its been years since I used my LEGO account.

Dear Mr. Farshtey,

After hearing that these message boards were to be retired, I wanted to express my gratitude and wish you success in your future projects. The Bionicle story was a big part of my childhood, and I have you to thank for it. I am now in college (don't ask me how I found my old account password), but I still build with G1 Bionicle and I still read your books. You gave me a love for reading, a love for writing, and a love for creativity. For that, I thank you. Even if you accomplish nothing else in your life (which I find hard to believe), know that you made an impact on so many young children like myself. You will always be though fondly of by us.

Sincerely,

Peter

I have a new question Greg.

So I get the Great Beings used all the planet juice (well, that's what I call it anyways) from Spherus Magna to power the Great Spirit Robot. But where do the Great Beings get their power? I know in BIONICLE they've always been like deities, but it's also been confirmed that they once inhabited Spherus Magna. Are they organic? Or are they something more?

Do note, that if you wanna keep the mystery aspect going, I'm completely OK with that. It helps the story keep the sense of being mysterious, however, if you are willing, it would be incredible to know.
