Hi Mr Farshtey,

Just wondering, it says on the HeroFactory comics that you were the one who wrote them.  Trials of Furno and Core Crisis have fairly similar scripts to the TV episodes of the same names, which as far as I know you didn't write.  So, did you write the comics based off of the TV episodes, or did the other writer write the TV episodes based off of the comics? Thinking

Thanks! Happy

What is your favorite Kanohi? I'm trying to make a self-moc for you and I already know your favorite element (ice) and weapon (axe).

Would a Toa of Light's ability to move at light speed be similar to a Kakama wearer's (albeit much faster)?
Could a Toa of Iron manipulate his own armor to achieve limited flight?
Oh, and could a Mask of Rahi Control's wearer control sea squid that the Barraki used?

Hey Greg, I was always curious.

Was there ever like any sorta in-story reason why Nuparu  and Matoro's masks changed from their main colour to silver when they became Toa Mahri? Or was it just a set thing that the designers liked

It was set thing. Sets always came before story.

I don't remember writing Hero Factory comics, but I probably did. But anything connected to a TV episode would have been based on the episode. The scripts were written way before a comic would have been.

1) How Annona's species is travelling in space?
2) How pocket dimensions are appearing? Were they created by Great Beings? I think at least dimensions of Makuta mass were created by them. Also GBs created personal pocket dimensions for Vanisher's species. Makuta, in turn, created the Field of Shadows especially for Zivon. How did they do it and why haven't used this technology in own purposes? And who created the dimension of light, Tuyet's prison and the City of Silver and inhabited it with Kestora?
2.1) What are the sizes of these pocket dimensions? How big they are? I mean, if you decide to go in one direction, where will you come?
3) About Takanuva's destiny: should he defeat his own creator, who is actually supporting Velika?
4) Why has Krakua communicated with Vakama in the "Time Trap"? Since he talks about Toa Inika, is it connected with Toa Mahri and their role in the GBs Civil War?
5) How many planets in the Solis Magna system? We saw at least 10-12 planets, some of them are suitable for life. So, is there a personal Annona on each Earth-like planet?
6) Are there only seven tribes on the Spherus Magna?
7) When Toa dies, their Spirit Star disappears. Will the Spirit Star appear again, if the revived Toa would return to the Matoran Universe?
8) What happened to Tyrant? Did he die? If yes, was he revived on the Red Star?
9) What is the origin of the Devastator?
10) What happened to Vultraz in the alternate universe?
11) Are there any Agori among the Great Beings? Or only Glatorian?

Hello Greg,

I found a contradiction on those two Glatorian bodies found in Dwellers In Darkness in two sets of quotes of yours. Note that I replaced a certain verb because I can't use it on the boards.

These are from 2009:
“Q) Will we find out why there were the dead bodies inside of Mata Nui’s head at the end of this story arc,[...]?
A) I can tell you why now. They were intended to be pilots, and they died in the Great Cataclysm.”
Follow up:
“Q) [...] Could you please elaborate on their role?
A) They were there in case something went wrong. If there was damage to Mata Nui’s systems, there would need to be a manual takeover. Unfortunately, the damage was so pervasive and so fast that they couldn’t stop its progression and they died in the crash.”
But they were contradicted by these in 2014:
“Q) In Dwellers In Darkness when the Toa Hagah, Miserix, and Zaktan are inside Mata Nui’s brain, they find two corpses [...] Were they Glatorians? If so why were they there?
A) Yes. They were the pilots for the initial launch and were supposed to eject at a certain point, but things didn’t work out that way.”
Follow up:
“Q) I’m assuming [they died because of] the great cataclysm?
A) I actually think they died long before then. Their job was just to get the robot in the air and pointed in the right direction, to be simplistic about it, not to pilot it through the entire mission.”
Follow up:
“Q) So what went wrong? Why didnt they eject?
A) Well, we have to figure on one of two reasons:
1) The eject mechanism failed, or...
2) Something disabled to [caused their deaths] them before they got a chance to use it.

I would vote for #2, myself.”

Wich set of quotes has the correct facts? I imagine the first one takes precedence, but I just wanted to be sure. Also, if the second set is the right one, who or what caused their deaths?

1) The identity of the voice that told Matoro to put the Ignika on was kept a secret untill 2012, when you said that “[your] feeling at the moment was that it was the Ignika itself.” Why was it kept a secret if it was just the mask?
2) Speaking of mysterious voices, who told Lewa to get the Sundial from Mata Nui? I suspect it was Velika, since who else than a Great Being would know about it?

3) Since the Earth Tribe is tied to nature, does it use animals in its military?
4) Does the Earth Tribe know how to fuse with plants?
5) Since the Earth Tribe knew what was going on underground, did they know about Annona’s existance?
6) The Earth Tribe didn’t care about ending billions of lives, why is that?

Thank you

1) There's a difference between "feeling at the moment" and a definitive answer.

2) Can't speak to this -- it's an MNOG thing, and I didn't work on that.

3) No

4) No. Earth is dirt, it's not plants. Plants would be jungle tribe.

5) No

6) You're mistaken. They did not know the planet would shatter, and there was no reason to believe a war would cost that many lives. Besides, how many human societies have been perfectly willing to see lives sacrificed for their own interests?

1) So, do you know who exactly it was?

2) It's not a MNOG thing-- well, the sundial was introduced in MNOG, but in a serial you wrote, a mysterious voice wich was never explained tells Lewa to get, and then the OoMN gives it to Takanuva to locate the Codrex. Since you wrote that, I assume you would know what that voice was, right?

4) Oh, so only Jungle Agori can? Didn't you say that an Element Lord could have done it too if he wanted?

6) I was going more along the lines of why they were willing to see lives sacrificed for their own interests. Did they see "those who weren't them" as enemies? Or did they just not care?

7) This is probably a stupid question with an obvious answer, but is the EL of Sand aggressive and territorial like the other ones?

8) How many Velika agents would you say there are?

9) Do Velika agents know about each other? Like, would Peridtus know Atakus is one?

10) Why does Orde think that Velika’s plan must be stopped? Okay, he wants to rule Spherus Magna, so what?

11) Do the Vorox in Kabrua’s pack know he’s a Velika agent?

12) Did the GBs originally belong to a tribe or more?

13) Do you have any idea of where Gaardus might have gone (teleported?) to?
14) Since the Makuta power of Rahi Control doesn’t work on intelligent Rahi like Krahka and Keetongu, is it safe to assume that this is also true for the Mask of Rahi Control?
15) You said that if Teridax was the first Makuta ever created, he would have probably led the Brotherhood from the start. Does that mean that Miserix was the first Makuta?

Thank you

7) Yes

8) Only a very small number. A secret shared is not a secret.

9) No

10) Because he would essentially be a dictator. His whole idea was that the GBs needed to take a "stronger hand" in how society was run.

11) No

12) Multiple tribes

13) Spherus Magna, I would assume

14) Yes

15) It is more likely he was than that Teridak was.

12) Including the Sand and Earth Tribes?

i would imagine he could - or probably wouldn't need his old body to create a toa one.

why couldn't he theoretically become a toa? toa and matoran have very similar physiology and identical minds, so couldn't velika's matoran body get infused with toa power just like any other and transform?

Well, we know Matoran are "destined" to be Toa, which has to mean there is some sort of programming involved in it. The power from a Toa stone is a trigger that activates what is already there. Otherwise, why have to seek out certain Matoran to become Toa? Why not just use the stone on any six Toa? But Velika has no such programming, all of his AI was replaced by the GB's consciousness. So even if he was destined to be a Toa, and most Matoran are not, he couldn't become one now.

With the proper tech, yes, he could download from his original body or his Matoran body. But why bother?
