So, according to the Bionicle World Spiriah tempered with the Skakdi more than 70,000 years ago. The evolution of the Makuta was 40,000/30,000 years ago, which was the reason (as I remember) to have the Toa Hagah teams.

How did Spiriah have a Toa Hagah team, if his exile was long before the evolution? Or had the Makuta Toa Hagah teams before the event?

I checked every piece of Bionicle media that contains Toa Hagah (not as many as you'd think), and none of them say that the Toa Hagah were employed for that, so there's no reason to think that Spiriah didn't have a Toa Hagah team.

still, we don't know, when they were employed. And what was the reason to employ them, if not the evolution?

Hey Greg! The boards are about to close down so I want to ask you a few questions about Brutaka:

1) How did he get his Olmak?

2) When (relative to all the other events) did he leave the Brotherhood of Makuta? Before Teridax took over, before the Matoran Civil War, etc?

3) Did he work under any specific Makuta when working for the Brotherhood of Makuta?

4) Is his ability to absorb Antidermis related at all to him working for the Brotherhood?

5) Is he one of a kind or part of a species?

Hi Greg,

Since the Message Boards will be closing soon, here's one last important question I have for you.

You've stated before that, in cases where you contradict yourself, the earlier facts take precedence. When you were asked once if Brutaka's mutations by the Pit Mutagen had been undone by Mata Nui, you said no, because the walls of the Great Being's Fortress were shielded to prevent this. However, since then, you have said many, many times that Brutaka was in fact cured. So, once and for all, and knowing what you have said in the past--- was he cured? Or not?

Thank you so much for everything you've done over the years.

Hi Greg,

Another thing that I'm desperate to get answered before the boards close.

Two years ago, when you confirmed that Atakus was a spy for Velika, you were asked if Vastus was as well, and your response was "As far as Vastus goes, I would like to hear the arguments for why people think he would have been before making a call on that."

No one ever followed through on this, but I remember what the community's ideas were back then. The theory was that since Vastus fought in the Core War and it is known that he feels bad about what he did during that war, that he might support Velika because Velika's new order would prevent another terrible war. So, knowing this, is Vastus a spy for Velika?

Thank you.

Dear Greg, I have a proposition for you that I've been thinking about for a while and have decided to tell with the LMBs closing down. Your writing is amazing and has inspired me to write some of my own stuff.

Wouldn't it make sense for the Great Beings to have one of their number in the Matoran Universe to report back to them and tell them what's going on?

To me, it would. If Great Beings can pose as matoran(as shown with Velika) it would make sense that they would have one posing as a matoran. Now, you might ask, why didn't this spy tell the Great Beings about the Great Cataclysm?

What I'm getting to is, what if Kapura was actually a Great Being assigned by them to report back on the matoran universe. This would explain his strange ability of teleportation(maybe he made a special matoran body so that he could view the entire matoran universe via teleportation). It would also answer my question of why the spy wouldn't tell the Great Beings about the Cataclysm as his mind was wiped when he was put in a matoran sphere.

What do you think? Thank you for your time and for writing all those amazing stories.

It's a nice idea, but I don't think the GBs would have seen that as necessary. Remember, when the robot left, the Matoran were not sapient -- they were just drones, basically. So there was no real reason the GBs needed to know what was going on, plus they couldn't have fixed anything that went wrong from where they were anyway.

I don't think so, but I do think that you give good reasons for why he would be very quick to ally with him.

1) Probably from the OOMN

2) He left before the Makuta actively began to rebel. I don't have a better timeline than that

3) Probably, but don't know who

4) No

5) Part of a species

2) Yes, he is

3) Not at this point, no

4) Malum is not welcome in polite society right now.

5) Not really, no. The couple that I really liked I tended to write about a lot and then people got sick of them Smile

Cheers Greg! I appreciate the info, it's cool to see you remember this stuff years after you finished. If I could ask a few more:

1. I haven't been able to find a citation but lots of people seem to think it, so could we please get confirmation that Icarax used to wear the Mask of Scavenging before the Kraahkan?

2. How are the Metru Nui Turaga reacting to Spherus Magna? Do they have a particular place in society, and how is Vakama doing now that his tormentor is gone?

3. Do you have a favourite Piraka (Nektann included), Barraki and Makuta (sans Teridax)?

4. Do you imagine the G2 Mask of Creation looking like what Artakha would wear in G1? (Already answered)

5. Was there a specific character you wanted to bring back by introducing the Red Sun?

6. Is there a moment you wrote in any medium that hit home to you in parcitular?

Thanks again!

Buried, understandably. It makes sense if you don't have the time to respond to this before the forums shut down, though it'd be appreciated! Hope the flood of questions aren't overwhelming you.

1) Yes, I can confirm that

2) The society is still being built, and it's going to be a long rocky process. So I am not sure exactly what role they will play has been determined yet

3) Not offhand

5) No

6) Not really, no.

No, I don't look at the galleries. Using someone else's model to do something in a story without their permission would be wrong.

Hello Mr. Farshtey,
I have some questions in order to clarify some grey areas of two topics: the Awakening and the MUian behaviours regarding death and ressurection.

1a) Which reasons prompted Velika to do the Awakening? What were his motivations?
1b) Did the consequences of having sapient MUians (freewill, emotions, warlike and ideological conflits, Teridax-like behaviours, ...) were well known at the moment by Velika? Do they have any importance in his plans?

2a) Did Mata Nui was fully sapient from the begining or was affected by the Awakening like other MUians?
2b) If he was already sapient, why wasn't he astonished by the consequences of the Awakening? Did he know that was somehow possible?

1) Because sapient Matoran would be more likely to follow him.

2) As we have already established, Mata Nui was paying very little attention to what was going on inside of him. Until you get sick, how much attention do you pay to what is going on inside your body?
