This is my first day hearing of Greg. So please excuse my ignorance. But I have some questions for you Greg.
1. Can you give us some tips on how to write good stories?
2. Will there be anymore Ninjago sets? Episodes maybe?
3. This is the last one, when will Chima ONLINE open beta come out?

1) One of the important things is to treat your characters as real people, in a way. If you try to force them to do things in your story that they wouldn't normally do, then it  becomes hard to write, because they stop being predictable. And predicting what they do  next is part of your job as a writer.

2) Yes and yes.

3) Don't know

I have a couple more questions.

1. Why is your username ScribeGT6817

2. When will the new sets and episodes come out?

3. How did you become involved with LEGO?

1) Because it is.

2) 2014

3) Answered an ad

Just one more Greg.

Are you as excited as I am to see The LEGO Movie?

Yes. I saw the trailer a few weeks ago and it looks really fun.

Hey Greg, do you like the Avengers?

I am a huge fan of the comic, yes, I have almost a complete run.

Do you also like the movie?

Overall, I did, but I want to watch it again. I went into it not in a very good mood and also buying into all the hype that it was the greatest thing ever filmed, so that affected how I ended up seeing it. So I think I need to see it again. One thing I will say though: the Marvel Avengers family of movies have tried to stay true to the characters and the mythology as much as they reasonably could, and I think it is part of the reason these movies work. You are talking about characters who have been successful for over 50 years, and there's a reason they have been, so don't mess with it.

Dear ,Greg (or ScribeGT as that is your username)

I like your stories very much and so do my brothers (All 3 of them) they have great plot detail and wonderfully portray the characters emotions. And still I have notices 1 problem with your novels: They have no flow. Like they were written by someone who was more used to writing thing such as text books, or encyclopedias. Not a HUGE problem, in fact quite minor, just wanted to point that out, still great books.

Well, I have to disagree. If they had no "flow," they would not have been as popular as they were. But everyone is entitled to their opinion, and since I do not know how you define "flow," it's impossible for me to give you a better answer. Can you give specific examples?

The wording can make some parts of your stories somewhat difficult to read out loud, and the only reason I noticed this was because I was reading it to my bros. And you can't say that I'm just bad at reading out loud because I have no trouble reading other books out loud. Yes, your novel  were very popular I can't argue with that, just saying that they read better for silent readers. NOT A BIG PROBLEM!!!! I still read your books regularly. EmbarrassedJokingWink

Okay, that is a totally different issue than story flow. But without a specific example, I can't speak to your issue. I have heard  this from other people, but they were referring to the fact that there are so many difficult to pronounce BIONICLE terms in the stories, but I doubt that is your issue.

you could continue it in the Bionicle sub-forum!Wink

I don't have the spare time to work on BIONICLE at this point, until and unless it becomes a priority for the company again. My time is  pretty much devoted to Ninjago and Chima now, because those are active lines.

eBay maybe

If you don't mind reading them on your laptop/computer, they're all free to download or stream at Biomedia.com.

Ooooooooooooooooooooooooh My Mata Nui. I literally flipped and nearly broke my calf when I read that title. GregF is taking questions! This is just like the ask Greg in BzPower but only this time I'm legally allowed to post the questions! Here's a list of some questions I'd like to ask:

1. Is there a likelihood that the serials "The Power that be" and "Yesterday's Quest" will be continued?

2. Since the Red Star could resurrect characters but simply can't teleport them back, can someone like Botar's Replacement be able to teleport there and bring to Spherus Magna characters such as Nikila, The First Hydraxon, Lhikan, etc.?

3. When Lhikan is brought back in the red star, is he a Matoran or a Turaga? Also with Nidhiki, since his transformations are artificial.

4. Is there any likelihood that Bionicle Papercutz Graphic Novel #10 is made?

5. Is there any possibility whatsoever that you tell me the planned named for TSO that was scrapped?

6. Will there ever be an official artwork of Zaria, Orde and Chiara?

7. In canonicity, did Toa Nuparu ever wield an Aqua Blaster Blade?

8. Which Kraahkan is more similar to the original idea? The one in sets or the one in the movies?

9. Whose idea was it to have rotating pegs in Bionicle: The Legend Reborn and why?

10. Will Bionicle ever come back? I know it's a longshot.

1) Not at the moment, no

2) Yes

3) It's the body you had when you died.

4) No. Book publishers rely in part on the existence of the toys to market the line, plus LEGO Licensing needs to focus on current lines.

5) No, and it wasn't scrapped - I simply refuse to share it

6) Not unless BIONICLE comes back. There is no budget to get artwork done

7-8) Don't recall

9) No idea. I wrote the story for the film, but had nothing to do with the animation

10) I can't say yes or no, because it wouldn't be my decision. It's something that would be decided at LEGO HQ in Billund.

OMYGOSHOMYGOSHOMYGOSHOMYGOSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am an enormous fan of your work! I've been with Bionicle since its debut, and I have read and thoroughly enjoyed every one of the books! My favorite of the bunch is Adventures #9, Time Trap, which leads to my question: Was it your idea to write the plot-expanding/fulfilling books like Maze of Shadows, Time Trap, and Voyage of Fear, or was it LEGO's?

A stupid question, I know, but I've always wondered about that. Joking

NNot at all a stupid question. Basically, this was born out of necessity. Scholastic had their schedule of books and in some cases they had more early or late in the year than were needed to cover main storyline (or else most of main story was going to be in a movie). So I had to write "side stories" ... which is pretty much the same thing I do with Ninjago now. The main story for that is the TV series, the graphic novels are side adventures.

That's awesome. It's those sidestories that make Bionicle such an intriguing and complex world, especially when they link with each other in some way. Thank you for answering! Smile

I do have another question, though: The "salvation" known as Marendar was mentioned only once before the story ground to an abrupt halt. I'm not going to ask what you had planned in the story for that guy, but I wanted to know if you had an image of its appearance in your head already, as well as its abilities. You see, I built a MOC of what I pictured Marendar to look like in my head (I have it uploaded to the LU creation lab), but I would like to try and make it closer to what it would have looked like in the canon. So, what do you picture Marendar to look like (colors included), and what did you have in mind with regards to its powers and such?
