And one more thing. In the concept drawing it looked like to was going to be a solid continuation of the old story. Why did it vere.

is there gonna be a set and/or an unbuyable mini set like an exclusive with something like $75 or more and you get the mask of creation? (i'm talking about the msk of creation)

Even in the old days, Greg's involvement with the toy side of things was limited. He's the story guy.

On top of that, he has nothing to do with the new Bionicle, so he's the wrong person to aks even about story for that, let alone sets.

Even if I knew the answer to this, we are not allowed to discuss anything about future product plans, positive or negative.

I can't see that happening for old BIONICLE, and I have no idea if they will do that for new BIONICLE.

So regarding Nova Blasts, a lot of elements are pretty obvious and have even been demonstrated (Water creates massive floods that destroy absolutely everything, Fire makes the world burn, Plantlife turns everything into a jungle or something), but many of them are very unclear, such as Iron and Stone – do they simply encase everything in a solid layer of the aforementioned elements?

Even then, some Elements are even more unclear, such as Magnetism, Gravity, and Psionics especially. Mind clearing up  some of the lesser-known elements?

1) Yes

2) Where I can, though a lot of these seem pretty obvious to me. Gravity, for example, is either going to radically increase gravity or lessen it so much that everyone is floating around.

Perhaps the reason they aren't so obvious to me is that I'm in the mindset that no matter what the element, they'd be incredibly destructive somehow. I'm going to try to list off the Nova Blasts of the non-primary elements, and I'd appreciate it if you could correct me wherever I'm wrong.

Shadow/Light: ...Blind everyone in the area either by concealing their vision in Shadow/blinding them with light...?

Sonics: A larger version of what the Bohrok-Kal did to Lewa?

Plasma: Melt everything?

Lightning: Focused Thunderstorm?

Magnetism: Pull everything magnetic in the radius apart? Or just simply increase the magnetic pull of everything?

Psionics: ...Fry brains?

Would these be accurate?

Hi Greg!

I have a question concerning Nova Blasts. It has been quite a long time, though, so I wouldn't be surprised if you don't remember.

The concept of the Nova blast has originally been established in the non-canon video game "BIONICLE: The Game". Or at least, it is the prevalent belief that you took the concept from the game (probably after someone told you about it, because I assume you did not play the game) and made it canon. Even the Wikis mention that the Nova Blast originated in this game.

However, in the English version of the game the Nova Blast was actually referred to as the "Nuva blast" (with a "u", as in "Toa Nuva"), which hinted that only the Toa Nuva could do it. Some translations changed it to "Nova Blast", though. (I know the German translation did, I haven't checked any other translations.)

So I was wondering, did a fan (who only played the translation) suggest the Nova Blast to you when you canonized it? Or did you consciously change the name and scrap the Nuva-exclusivity? (If so, why?) Or did you come up with the concept yourself and it's just an accident that a similar concept with a similar name has been in the game?

Again, I wouldn't be surprised if you don't remember, but I thought it is worth a shot. Wink

Hello Greg.

I've returned with the results from the polls for the Toa Mangai Kanohi. For the first poll, the Kakama poll, 64 members voted and 65% of the voters agreed that they wanted the mask to be known. The result was that the majority of people want the Toa Mangai of Earth to wear the Kanohi Kakama.

In the Toa of Ice Kanohi poll, 95 members voted. The top winners were the Calix, Rode and the Mask of Conjuring. Those were the mask which the majority of the community wanted 3 of the 4 Toa of Ice to wear.  The foruth place had to be done using a tiebreaker poll.

In the tiebreaker poll between the Kaukau, Mask of Adaption, and the Kadin, 68 members voted and 47% of the voters wanted the 4th Toa of Ice to wear the Kanohi Kaukau.

Do you approve?

Thanks for your time and have a Merry Christmas.

I think this got buried.

Thanks for bumping this. Yes, I think it got buried.

Hi there Greg Farshtey!

Sorry about the two different posts, but I thought of some other questions:

1) We know that the Red Star scans the Matoran Universe for dead sapient species such as Matoran/Toa/Turaga, Skakdi, Vortixx, Steltians, etc., but does not scan for any Rahi because of a potential influx of one species.

      a)  Are intelligent Rahi considered in this rule; so no Krahka, Keetongu, and Tahtorak?

      b)  Would it still scan for Makuta even though they'd have no body for the Red Star to work with?

      c)  Could it scan for Kestora if they were teleported into the Matoran Universe?

      d)  Does it pick up that something is different about Velika? Does the star know he is a Great Being based on his                mehcanics/coding?

2) When exactly did Mata Nui fall asleep, right as Makuta cast the Great Shadow as he looked atop the Collesium? Or did he release the virus before and its effects only happened at that moment?

3)  I never could follow the intricacy of Makuta's plan. It didn't feel like it followed a linear path to me. How was his trapping the Matoran on Mata Nui, his wanting to speed up time for the encapsulated Matoran so they'd wake up and hail him as their hero, and his having Matoro bring the Great Spirit back to life with the Ignika all connected?

I think this got buried.

I mean like those early contests like the rahi contest and the dark Hunters contest.

Hi Greg-

First off, I've been a fan of Bionicle since 2007 (when I joined) and I have collected a few books from the beginning of the saga (including book 1 of the original Toa story). Happy Here's my question: There are a few inconsistincies with the Glatorian stroryline and the original storyline. In Mata Nui's story that was on the website, Mata Nui says that he landed on Aquos Magna and said the leaders became the Turaga and "all memories of working in a robotic universe were erased from the minds of all but the Turaga", implying that they landed on Aquos Magna and were immediately were on Mata Nui. Yet the Turaga talked about living in Metru Nui, many years before they arrived at Mata Nui. Was Metru Nui like a representation of living in the Mata Nui robot? Another thing: Makuta claims he hurled the Mask of Life "deep into the cosmos, never to return", and there is even a picture of the mask in deep space, but the mask was on Aqos Magna, which is right next to Bara Magna, so either the mask made a huge ciricle, or Makuta is horrible at throwing.

Face palm <-- Makuta

You once told that you wanted to name Comic 7 of the Ignition Series called "Mask of Life, Mask of Doom" to "Mask of Life,Mask of Death" instead of Doom. Why was it not allowed if there's "Death of a Hero" or "The Death of Mata Nui"?

Greg,
You have stated time and time again that romantic love between Matoran is non-canon. I, however, have a theory on this. Maybe romance is canon in an alternate universe. This would explain why there is clearly romance in the Bohrok Animations, and MNOG. It's because it takes place in an alternate universe. The real events in the main universe are similar, but without the romance. In fact, this theory would explain everything non-canon. Thank you for listening to my ramblings, and have a nice day.

Can you create a mask worn by a Kiata(Mask of wisdom or Mask of Valor, for example) by carving a disk created by combining the disks required to create the masks of the Toa who are part of the Kiata?
