Greg, can I have a list of EVERY theme you ever worked on?

If you are looking for lines I have actually been on the story team for, it is pretty much just BIONICLE. I have written freelance for BIONICLE, Ninjago, Chima, LEGO DC Super Heroes and Hero Factory. I have done Club magazine work on pretty much every theme for the last 13 years.

Okay, thanks. Do you still do Club magazine work? If so, what did you do in the most recent mag?

I just realized, if you reveal the Shadowed one's name it would be considered Fan-Fiction now. Joking

When you wrote the stories where did you get your inspiration? Did it just come to you? Or did you have to look for it? Sometimes it comes in the most unexpected places. Wink

It's kind of a personal question and I don't know if I'm allowed to ask, but you say you have a daughter, what's her name? Thinking

I'm not sure if this is even allowed to be answered, but hey, worth a shot. Joking

I am referring to BIONICLE, of course.

Thanks Greg Farshtey, sorry for me getting a little bit upset/offended.Embarrassed Now that you explained what you mean with 'fan fiction', I feel alright about it. I just hope you respect our work like we do respect yours, and now it seem you do!Happy

Greg Farshetey...my childhood hero! I'm a 15 year old TFOL and a huge fan of your work with Bionicle. Questions for you...can I have your job?? No just kidding. Oh my gosh I can't believe I'm talking to you.

Bionicle questions...why is it over?? Joking Just kidding again. You know, you did such a good job with the universe of Bionicle I don't think I have any questions. Surprised I'll get back to you on questions. Time to go to the library and check out all the graphic novels and stuff related to Bionicle. Joking

Oh, I have a question. What was your favorite part of Bionicle? Was it the Piraka arc, or the Phantoka arc, or the Bhorak arc? Maybe it was the Visorak arc? Or the Toa Mahri and Barraki arc?

The year I have a soft spot for was 2004. It was not the best story we did, but it was the first year I got to write all the books for.

I can see why you liked those! Happy

Ah yes, I remember a few mentionings of those dinosaurs. I think the first i saw was from that rough copy of a script that somebody who was "official" wrote (maybe you?) for the 5th BIONICLE movie. Which leads me to my next question. How much of the BIONICLE storyline was YOUR idea? Were any of the big plot ideas your own (Matoro's death, Mata Nui dying, Mata Nui being a robot), or did you mostly handle the smaller story details?

Also, as a side question, were Vortixx different colors? I know that Roodaka had black armor, but in one of the comics there was a green vortixx. Was that just a mistake, or can Vortixx really be green?

Thank you!!!!

p.s. To save time, you could probably ask the mods to not let through all the questions about the serials continuing. I understand that not everybody reads every question, so there are doubles, but there is an outrageous amount of people asking that same question. Just a friendly suggestion Angel

It varied. For example, Mata Nui being a robot was NOT my idea. Mata Nui dying was mine and someone else's, I think. Makuta's secret plan to take over Mata Nui's body was my idea. Some things I did, and some things were ideas someone had, then I built on, then someone else built on, and it wound up being a team effort.

What about the dinosaurs? Were those a Greg Farshtey original? Wink

Also, could you answer my 2nd question from my last post? I will paste it below:

Thank you so much! I don't mean to sound like a nag, I'm just a long time fan who loves the story! Nerd BTW it is awesome that you are doing this at all! Happy Happy Happy

1) Don't remember

2) I don't think we ever said they all had to be black, so it's possible

Greg Farshtey, IS BIONICLE EVER GOING TO COME BACK?Nervous Bionicle is the best theme in LEGO, but is it ever going to come back, or is it done.Crying

I have no idea, Matt. LEGO still owns it, so it could be brought back, but that is a decision that would need to be made by the folks who run the company. So I have no idea if it is being considered at all.

You mentioned you had plans for 2 more movies. What would their synopsises be?

Of course I want it back. I am a BIONICLE fan. But I have no "plans" because there is no way to know if I would even be working on it. And only one synopsis was ever written.

It's really hard to identify where your inspiration comes from. I think if you do this long enough, you just start to think  in story ideas.

Hello Mr. Greg Farshtey! Is there anything you can tell us about the upcoming Ninjago wave? Were pretty sure it'll have something to do with Cyborgs, but we aren't sure.

Say Greg, here are some questions: What is the limited edition set 'Toa Mata Nui's influence on the story line? (Or is the set not canon at all) Do the old Bionicle sets actually have hands in you books? Could Irnak, Annona, the Olmak or the mask of Possibilities make it possible to create a Toa of Acid? (I hope that last question is not spamming, if it is, please ignore it...)
