Hey Greg,

How did you guys come up with names for Bionicle masks, characters, etc?

Will there ever be more "expanded universe" stuff to be added the Bionicle Universe? More masks, mask names, designs? Is there a mask of laser vision that's mentioned, used, etc? Are there unorganic versions of the Inika masks? (sorry for loading a ton of questions) Do the unorganic versions of the Inika masks look different from that of the organic ones? What happens to Pohatu and Kopaka, who are trapped on the Red Star?

"6. Are Kestora about the same height of a Matoran? That's kind of the impression I got from the illustrations."

"8) What illustrations?"

There were illustrations of Kestora in the Journey of Takanuva young reader. The ones in the pocket dimension.

1.Given the fact that those matoran didn't find another route out of MN, and the geography of the GSR, is there not one?

2.If there isn't another route to/from MN to the rest of the robot, how did karzahni not know about the entire universe outside his realm? also, given that a makuta was assigned to protect that area, wouldn't he have gone there from time to time, and been noticed by karzahni? (actually, we know teridax fought icarax there once...) Or perhaps karzahni doesn't oversee that entire dome? Or were the inika just that unlucky/desperate to use that path?

3.karda nui is below the southern continent. when voya nui was ripped from the SC, and it smashed through the "roof" of the dome to aqua magna, a waterfall came through that gap and fell down into karda nui, flooding it. after voya nui returned to the continent when the mahri destroyed the Cord, wouldn't the waterfall have flooded voya nui and the surrounding continent?

4.we know an Iden has to stay on in order for the user to continue projecting his spirit, and if the mask is somehow turned off, the spirit will forcibly return to the body. what would happen if an Iden user's spirit went through a dimension gate to another reality? he'd basically be stuck there in spirit form?

1) Not one that is generally known, no

2) I don't think the Makuta particularly wanted to deal with Karzahni. And you have to remember that K is extremely self-absorbed. Even if he knew every last thing about the MU, he just wouldn't care.

3) The chest armor of the robot sealed itself after Voya Nui passed back through.

4) Only if the gate closed.

1. So anyone who wanted to go to/from metru nui had to pass through karzahni?

4. Otherwise he/she would just be pulled back through?

Thanks!

Why were elements such as earth/stone and ice/water separated? (Especially ice and water, since they are just different states of the same thing.)

4. What if said gate reopened, could they go back?

I have a few questions.

1. Is Dume native to Metru Nui? I thought I read somewhere he was.

2. Teridax kept a few Makuta alive to create Kraata because he couldn't do it in the robot. How long did he keep them alive?

3. On that note, does a Makuta have sole control over their own Kraata, Rahkshi, and Infected Masks? Or is it any Makuta? I'm asking because if Teridax didn't make the Kraata after he took over the robot, how could he control them if someone else made them?

4. If a Makuta dies, and someone is wearing a mask they infected, what happens to that being? Are they freed, or do they remain a drone until the mask is removed?

5. Are/were there ever any Kestora inside the actual robot?

1) I can't recall us ever writing anything saying that he was.

2) Well, they would still have been alive when he went to Bara Magna, but I doubt they survived his death.

3) Kraata would respond to the Makuta with the stronbgest will, and that would be Teridax.

4) They would be waiting for guidance that did not come.

5) No

3. Can Makuta make a special Kraata that bonds to their creators will?

4. Would they then be suseptible to suggestion?

This is what's mostly a trivial question but's been bugging me for a while.

Are rhotuka flat or spherical, and if they're flat do they fly horizontally as the comics imply or vertically as the movies depict?

Will you by any chance be going to any comic cons this year? Theres one upcoming in Eugene.

1 how big would you think the red star is?

2 Do the special powers the Piraka have (i.e. Thoks power to animte things) uniqe to them or do other skakdi share those abilites?

3 why didn't Axonn destory to pool of antidermis he and Brutaka were sent to find?

Hey, Greg, I thought of some more questions.

This one's been bugging me: The Toa Metru used the Great Disks to destroy the Morbuzahk, but then later Vakama combined the Great Disks to create the Disk of Time (and later the Vahi). How did they get the Great Disks back after using them? Correct me if I'm wrong, it's my understanding that Kanoka are used once and then are gone once they've hit their target.

Also, is it possible, with enough willpower and unity, for a Toa team such as the Toa Mata to create a Toa Nui?

On this topic, is there the capability for three Toa Kaita (that's 9 toa creating 3 beings!) to create a Kaita from those three Kaita, creating a "Kaita Nui" of sorts?

Thank's so much for taking time out of your day to answer us! Happy

1) I don't know how they came up with the original names, but the later names it was just a matter of putting letters together until you had something that sounded like BIONICLE and could pass a legal check.

2) Probably nothing official for original BIONICLE, since the company's focus is new BIONICLE

3) I can't recall us doing a mask of laser vision

4) Yes

5) Yes

6) Nothing has happened to them. Story is frozen where it stopped.

Yes, but those were pocket dimension Kestora - we don't know that base dimension Kestora look like that.

Wish I could give you an answer, but I was not employed at LEGO when that decision got made. By the time I joined, year one was already locked.

2
2) I don't think Karzahni would mind so much as long as the Makuta didn't interfere with what he was doing
4) Depends. If the gate is open when the mask is turned off, then the spirit comes back. If the gate is closed and the spirit is stranded, then it depends on when the gate reopens. If a spirit is out of a body for too long, it dissipates and can't return.
