First, some serious questions:

1. Was Mata Nui always intended to have creators in the form of the Great Beings? Were they in the original story bible or was that a later addition?

2. It's been known for a while that the 2009 story was meant to be the first part of a trilogy a la the Ignition saga. How far did the Story Group get to planning the 2010 and 2011 stories before you were informed of the cancellation? Or was it purely a year-by-year thing and none of you had any idea what the latter two years would hold?

3. Could a Krana control The Shadowed One?

Now some not-so-serious questions:

4. Is it possible that the Slizer and Robo-Rider planets were among the ones observed by Mata Nui?

5. What would happen to Mata Nui (in his GSR body) if he fell into a planet-sized vat of Energized Protodermis?

Unfortunately, no. I'm not an artist, I'm a writer.

1) Yes, they were in the original story bible

2) We were just sitting down to plan out 2010 when we got word the line had been cancelled. That was Sept. of 2008.

3) Probably

4) To my knowledge, they are not part of the BIONICLE universe

5) Would depend on if the robot was destined to transform or to be destroyed

Hold on, Greg! I know I'm late in the game, but I have also read your books, and I know you played a major part in Bionicle. You're credited in the latest video of Bionicle's webisodes - is that merely for the original concept, then? If so, who is developing the new story for Bionicle?

Just thought I'd ask. Wink

Well, I didn't come up with the original concept for G1 or G2 -- G1 already existed before I came to work at LEGO Company, and G2 was mapped out before I ever saw any of it. There is a story team for G2, just as there was for G1, consisting of I am sure people in the same roles as we had for the G1 team. I am simply not on it.

So, I guess this means that if we have any questions about Gen2, we should ask... Ryder Windham?Thinking

Pretty much, yes. He is writing the books and the graphic novels and, I am sure, working closely with the G2 story team.

I did freelance work for Papercutz, primarily on NINJAGO books. I am employed by LEGO Company.

Hey Greg,

If the Toa Suva in the Great Temple was only used once (according to an article on BS01), how did Lhikan and his team transform into Toa?

Hi Mr. Farshtey, nice to meet you.  I'll get straight to the point...

I'm gonna write a BIONICLE fanfic, although it is a reboot fanfic, but I want it to be more like Marvel and Ultimate Marvel.  Many similarities, but many differences as well.  I was wondering if you had any tips on that sort of concept, or on writing in general...  Maybe we could talk about it...  Idk...

In addition to that, I have a few questions:

1:  G1 Artakha wore a mask of creation; what did you imagine it looking like?

2:  Who's your favorite G1 character, mask, and element?

3:  Do you think BIONICLE 2015 will end up alright?

4:  What are your thoughts on BIONICLE G2?

I'm waiting for the Toa to encounter Darth Vader. Joking

Hey Greg, I have some Rahkshi related questions:

1. So what Stage was the Kraata in the Rahkshi of Heat Vision that Whenua and Tehutti encountered in the Archives

2. I know that Kraata have different stages, but is it possible that Rahkshi have them as well?

3. Is it possible for a Stage 6 Kraata to operate a Rahkshi suit that came from a lower stage Kraata? Will it affect the Rahkshi's powers in a way

I believe it's just regular Star Wars.  I know he's written books on Rebels and also one on Darth Maul, but I'm not sure about LEGO Star Wars...

1. Would any Toa's elemental powers be affected in a vacuum e.g. fire not catching, water boiling, plasma dissipating?

2. Can the Kanohi Nuva impose their effects in other beings without affecting the user? E.g. a Hau Nuva user cast a forcefield around another person but not themselves, Miru Nuva levitating a foe, Kaukau Nuva suffocating someone.

3. How did Velika kill Tren Krom such that he was disseminated in such a gruesome manner?

4. Did Matoran ever have a recreational fighting practice similar to the Glatorian system?

5. Are Matoran part of Steltian society?

6. Do you think that on Spherus Magna all the MU societies would dissolved, or would some social orders remain e.g. the caste system on Stelt?

7. Was Zaktan's consciousness dispersed across every protodite, or were there specific individuals which made up his brain, for example?

8. Do you think Alternate Teridax would have associated with the Toa? Would they have trusted him?

9. Are Skrall, Vorox and Glatorian all diffeent species, or do they simply describe drastically different cultures? Would they be able to have children together?

Thanks for reading Smile

1) Yes, but a Toa in a vacuum would most likely be dead anyway

2) Not to my knowledge

9) I don't think they are radically different species, no. I am sure there are some differences, but probably not enough to prevent inter-breeding

2. i believe it was stated somewhere that one of the immoral implications of a kaukau nuva was suffocation.
9. the definition of a species is that  they can interbreed to produce fertile offspring. so if the glatorian, agori, vorox, etc can interbreed, then they are all one species.
9a. of course, they still might be able to breed and produce offspring, but if that offspring is not able to reproduce on its own, then they would be classified as different species.

  1. Is it plausible for the barraki to raise an army after teridax's fall to conquer SM?
  2. Is it plausible that Makuta Teridax had reserves of Antidermis somewhere that survived?
  3. Were there more of Annona's species, or was she one of a kind?
  4. Does the Energized Protodermis Entity represent any being native to SM?
  5. What is the Origin of Energized protodermis? How did it gain sentience? Is it considered a 'native species' to Spherus Magna alongside Annona?
  6. If I recall correctly, you stated there were just under 20 Great beings. There are about 18 differant elements in Canon Bionicle. Is there any correlation between this? (I.E. are GBs specifically attuned to a specific element?)
  7. Is there more of the GB race somewhere in the universe, or are they the last of their kind?
  8. Do Great beings have any equals on Spherus Magna? Is the EP Entity considered their equivelant?
  9. Is tehre a correlation between Tren krom and Annona's similar appearance?

That's all for now, I look forward to your answers! Happy

Ummm... greg, did you see this?

5) It is a natural substance on SM. And it may well have always been sentient

5. could it be that it's simply a property of protodermis to gain sentience over time? that would explain why the matoran became sentient when they were programmed to simply be machines. velika's involvment in the process could simply have been speeding it along.

What exactly are the powers of the Great Beings? Mainly how did he destroy Tren Krom, and what are their exact ability of control over the denizens of the Matoran Universe?

Also balancing off of that, what was the Golden Skinned Being's plan exactly? He is the most outright powerful being due to his dream power. Was he going to take over Spherus Magna? Destroy it?

1) GBs don't have super-powers. They are scientists. They have tech. As far as TK goes, TK is organic, he could die the same way any other organic thing can be killed.

2) The GSB's function is to make dreams come true. In this case, he was feeding off the dreams of the Skakdi, who, of course, are all about war and conquest. So that was what he was working toward.
