Hey Greg, guess who?

So, may question is:

In the Rahaga instruction booklets, all of them (save Gaaki) are referred to by names other then the ones we know. For example, Norik is called Tahkon. My question is, what are these names? A severe typo? The development stage names? Or something else?

Thank you for your time. Happy

Development stage names that probably got changed for legal reasons.

I understand, but is it entirely possible that an upper half of the Vahi exists in the Gen 1 universe? It would certainly fill the hole that it is the only one of the three legendary masks not created by the Great Beings.

I'm really, really hesitant to talk about anything that impacts the Gen2 universe in any way (even though it's over), because I wasn't involved in Gen2.

You could say it was just "Tahk'd-on"! Ha! Sorry, that was a bad joke.

Anyway, I'd like to ask you, Greg, some Ninjago-related questions:

1. What was in Ninjago BEFORE The First Spinjitzu Master "created" it? Were there still humans around or did he just come into existence out of nowhere?
2. The Serpentine were created by The First Spinjitzu Master, right? It wasn't just some tale that the Serpentine taught their children, right?
3. Did he also create all of the animals there?
4. Did he create the humans there too?
5. The elements are very confusing; Lloyd's element is "energy", even though it's separate from Jay's element, which is lightning. "Darkness" is also a separate element from "shadow", and instead is an "evil" version of "energy". In order to simplify and prevent confusion, can we refer to "energy" as "positive energy" and "darkness" as "negative energy", with "golden energy" just being a really enhanced "positive energy"?
6. Is there an opposite of "golden energy"? Something among the lines of "complete darkness" or "black energy"? After all, there must always be a counterbalance between "good" and "evil", right?

Thanks, and I look forward to your response, Greg.

I wish I could answer these, but although I have written for NINJAGO, I am not part of the NINJAGO story team. So I don't know what answers they have in mind for these things and I don't want to give you answers that would quite possibly be wrong.

I have a few questions today:
1) Why exactly did Velika choose a Po-Matoran body?
2) In a pretty old answer on this thread you said that in the Kingdom AU Velika took the body of one of the Matoran of MNOG. Since in the Core Dimension he chose a Po-Matoran body, is it possible that in this AU he chose Hafu's?
3) Regarding the Earth Tribe's "dark story", were you given permission by LEGO to post it, or did you not need their permission? If not, what's stopping you from finishing the serials?
Also, I had asked you another few questions on page 876, but you missed them, could you answer them? Right now I'm on mobile so I can't quote them.
Thanks!

1) I think he just chose what was most easily available at the time.

2) Yes

3) We are talking about something that will be a few lines long and related to events already in canon. There's a big difference between that and whole new stories that carry the story onward.

4) I will take a look when I get a chance.

What did the Barraki's species look like originally (minus Ehlek which we have already seen)? Did they look similar to Toa, or did they already look like their mutated forms, but less so?

They did not look like Toa. For the most part, the Barraki were considered "beautiful" by BIONICLE standards, which is why their mutation into such ugly beasts was such a harsh punishment.

However, Takadox’s entry in the BEU has some different information (and encompasses the entire universe aside from the exempt areas). If Takadox’s entry is believed, the arrangement goes something like this (with parenthesis indicating probable locations)

  • Pridak: Northwest region (likely the Northern Continent plus Xia)
  • Kalmah: Northeast region (likely Stelt, Zakaz, some islands in the northern section of the eastern island chain and other territories within that region)
  • Takadox: Eastern Islands (likely most of the eastern island chain)
  • Ehlek: Western Islands (likely most of the western island chain)
  • Mantax: Central Area (likely the Southern Continent)
  • Carapar: Southern Areas (likely the more populated areas in the north of the Southern Island Chains—islands such as Artidax, north including the Shadowed One’s homeland; and Keetongu’s homeland, north)

This arrangement makes much more sense in my opinion, and it technically wouldn't require a retcon. What do you think?

(And if it's all the same, please give a definite answer either way or ask if you want more information. The guys at BS01 have had some difficulty with 'I guess' answers. Thanks.)

I'm fine with that.

Nobody has tried to do so, but most things that are done can be undone.

If so, were they ever used to do external repairs/cleaning debris while the GSR was in space?

My guess is as long as the Bohrok hatch was sealed, the krana could survive. But I doubt they would used when the GSR was in space. Their job was strictly removing the camouflage.

Am I correct to assume that Matoran do not have a sense of taste? I mean, we don't (ever?) see them eating food all that much, at least not in the traditional sense. But of course, the question is, if a Matoran were to stick something into his mouth, would he be able to taste it.

Matoran were never meant to eat using their mouths, so I am not sure they would have needed a sense of taste ... that said, I think they probably have a rudimentary one at least, so as to avoid accidentally ingesting toxic materials, etc.

However, it was destiny that caused them to be fused together in the first place. If their destiny was to be fused, then by direct contrast it is not their destiny to be unfused.

Hello Greg, it's a great honor to finally talk with the man who wrote so many stories about the franchise that's been in my life since childhood! Happy. I have a lot of questions, so I won't bombard you with all of them at once. I will start with the "Top 5" that I have for now:

1) According to Biosector01, the curse of the Great Being who went mad by the Ignika was the first time that the mask used it's abilities, and as a result, the curse is permenant, and cannot be undone. HOWEVER, in one forum when you answered questions on the Bzpower site, you said that the Ignika CAN undo the curse that this mad Great Being is suffering from. So...can you please clarify if the Ignika can or can't end the curse?

2) It is said that Karzahni (the being) has the ability to repair himself. is this ability automatic (self regeneration), or does it means that Karzahni has to repair himself manualy? for example, since Velike killed Karzahni, can Karzahni's remains regenerate and bring Karzahni back to life?

3) While Teridax possesed the Maxilos robot, could he have taken the time between his appearences in "Prisoners of the pit" to separate his antidermis between more Maxilos robots, and create "backup copies" of himself? it sounds like something that Teridax would do, since he has a habbit to make plans for numerous possibilities (on a side note- I don't care that many people hate Teridax' name, I think it's a cool name! Wink)

4) Can the Great Beings posses machines like Marendar, and operate them by themselves, like a ghost that can posses a human body?

5) In "The Darkness below" story, the Rahi Krahka planned to imprison all the population of Metru Nui in the Fikou web, while she herself ruled Metru Nui. Did she planned to rule the city because she wanted to rule as an authoritive figure, or did she just wanted a larger territory to live in, without anyone to bother her?

Thank you SO MUCH for your time Greg! Hope to talk soon!

I disagree. That is like saying if you destiny was that you broke your leg skiing, that means it is not your destiny for your leg to heal. What if their destiny was to be fused and then someday unfused?

Hi Greg,

Here are two questions from two different posts that you missed, and a new one.

1) This one's about this passage of ST, some of the inner thoughts of Sahmad:

"I realized that I could have dreamed Annona out of existence before, but didn't. Maybe because somehow I knew it wouldn't work. If the golden being could have eliminated Annona that easily, he would have done so."

What exactly was stopping the GSB from eliminating Annona?

2)

I corrected the error with the accurate information, (that they are just scientists and all their powers come from their technology) but one member undid my edit. His point was that for the Mad GB to make all those things mentioned above, they had to have had at least some powers. Now, just for clarification, could you confirm that all those things the Mad GB did, he achieved through technology?

3) You said that Annona is a unique being, but I found an older post on this thread in wich you said that she was part of a species, and she was the only one of its members to inhabit SM. Wich one of the two statements is correct?

Thanks

I think this was buried.

1) For the GSB to do that, someone else would have had to harbored a dream of Annona being destroyed. GSB cannot act on its own dreams, it doesn't have any.

2) To the best of my knowledge (and no one on the team ever said differently) GBs do not have powers.

3) I think the best way to split the baby on this one is to say she is part of a species, but was the only one on Spherus Magna. I do not believe two of that species could co-exist on the same planet. It would be like having two vampires in the same village.
